The Security Council, on November 28, adopted resolution 1786 (text reftel). The resolution appoints Serge Brammertz as Prosecutor of the International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia with effect from January 1, 2008 for a four-year term, which is subject to an earlier termination by the Council upon completion of the work of the International Tribunal. Brammertz will complete his term as Chief Investigator of the International Investigation Commission for Lebanon at the end of December. ¶2.
