¶1. (C) Anticipating reftel, U/S Nick Burns raised top line
points on the need for NATO unity against trading for
hostages during the NAC/Reinforced on March 27. Canada,
Norway and the UK joined him.
¶2. (C) Following bilateral consultations in Rome on March
29, Ambassador Nuland will pursue the issues in reftel
further with the Secretary General and Allied counterparts.
