¶1. (C) Emboff met with Ministry of Economy, Trade and
Industry, Trade and Economic Cooperation
Bureau, Trade Insurance Division Director Michihiro
Kishimoto, on June 21, to solicit Japan's
response to USOECD's May 22 Iran and Export Credits survey.
Emboff provided U.S. answers to the
survey as directed, but Kishimoto stated that the Government
of Japan was still discussing the
matter, and hoped to provide a response in a timely fashion.
We asked to be informed of the conclusion
of these deliberations, and will report upon receipt of
futher information.
