Nonproliferation and Counterterrorism Department Director
Yehuda Yaakov expressed appreciation for the update on the
USG interest in the Argentine-Israeli Mutual Association
(AMIA) bombing case, calling it a "front and center" issue
for the MFA.
2. (C) Yaakov noted that the AMIA case was discussed during
the latest meeting of the U.S.-Israel Joint Counterterrorism
Group (JCG) in Washington on February 21. He indicated that
the MFA may have a more considered response to share after it
chairs an interagency meeting on the AMIA case on March 13.
