Ziv expressed appreciation for U.S. leadership in the ongoing effort to block Iran's drive to develop nuclear weapons. ¶2. (C) Ziv admitted that Israel was behind in submitting its 60-day report to the Security Council, and said that while her department was short-staffed and any form of doing business with Iran was illegal in Israel, they would nonetheless make an extra effort to get their report in. She noted that some U.S. companies continued to do business with Iran through third parties. Ziv said Israel would continue to work closely with the U.S. to identify Iran's financial vulnerabilities.
