(SBU) In response to Embassy Tel Aviv's inquiry to the Israeli MOD, per reftel, about the status of the controlled items referred to in Defense Trade Controls case 05-983026, Israeli MOD Blue Lantern POC Rami Yungman turned over the following letter to Embassy Tel Aviv's Blue Lantern Officer on October 18. A copy of the letter was sent by FAX to PM/DTCC at FAX number 202-261-8198 on October 18. (Begin text of letter) State of Israel Ministry of Defense Politico-Military Bureau Michael C. Keays First Secretary for Political-Military Affairs Political Section Embassy of the USA 16 October 2007 Subject -- Blue Lantern Case -- EL-OP Dear Michael: In response to your query dated September 5 relating to EL-OP Electro Optics, our inquiry has found the following: -- EL-OP received the 8 connectors in November 2005, and they are in its possession. -- The connectors are to be installed in electronic boxes of reconnaissance cameras to be used by the Indian Air Force on Su-30 aircraft. Supply of the cameras is expected to start by December 2007. Sincerely, Rami Yungman (End text of letter) ¶2. (SBU) On November 5, Embassy Tel Aviv Blue Lantern Officer confirmed the above in a conversation with EL-OP Director for Materiel Management Avi Shoham. During the conversation, Blue Lantern Officer reminded Shoham that any re-transfer of United States Munitions List (USML) items not authorized by the U.S. Government is prohibited.
