On November 6, Poloff met with Irakli Machitidze, Americas
Desk Officer with the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
and delivered the demarche on Advancing the Democracy Agenda
at the 4th Community of Democracies Ministerial in Bamako,
November 14-17. Machitidze was unsure if anyone from Georgia
would be attending the Ministerial. Machitidze expressed
support for U.S. initiatives and acknowledged our desire for
Georgia to share its experience in democratic development.
He will provide further information on potential Georgian
attendance when it is known.
