(SBU) On August 29, Pol-Econoff delivered reftel information
to Ismat Faizullaev, the Foreign Ministry's Director for U.S.
Affairs. Fayzullaev said that he in turn would refer the
information to the appropriate authorities in the Government
and would let us know of any decision to support our
candidacy. He also confirmed that Uzbekistan would be
sending a delegation to the International Civil Aviation
Organization (ICAO) Assembly, but he did not know who would
be leading it. Faizullaev said that he would inquire within
the Government and would try to inform Post.
