(C) On August 20, Poloff delivered reftel information to UN
and International Organizations Department First Secretary
Avazbek Khodjimetov. Khodjimetov said that his department
was already discussing whether to support Ms. Felice Gaer in
the Committtee Against Torture (CAT) election, but they have
not made a decision yet. He said that Post would be informed
as soon as a decision has been made. Khodjimetov could not
confirm whether Uzbekistan was sending representatives to the
meeting of the States Parties scheduled for October 8 in
Geneva.
