(SBU) On July 9, we delivered reftel points to Veiko
Kala, MFA Desk Officer for the International
Organization for Migration (IOM),on the USG's
candidate, Ambassador William Swing, for the position of
IOM Director General. Kala thanked us for the
information on Ambassador Swing, but informed us that
the Government of Estonia (GOE) is waiting for the
candidates from other EU member states to be put forward
before it makes any decision on which candidate to
support.
