DESALINATION RESEARCH CENTER MEETING, JULY 9-13,

1. This is an action cable. Please see para. 4.
2. The Middle East Desalination Research Center (MEDRC)
Executive Council will hold its next meeting in Salalah July
11, 2007. NEA Senior Advisor for Science and Technology
Charles A. Lawson, who is the U.S. Executive Council member
(and Council Vice Chairman),is planning to represent the USG
at the meeting.
3. Lawson has reservations to travel on the following
itinerary:
July 9 - Arrives Muscat at 2130 hrs. on Lufthansa flight
618 from Frankfurt.
July 10 - Departs Muscat at 1540 hrs. on Oman Air flight 515.
Arrives Salalah at 1710 hrs.
July 12 - Departs Salalah at 1800 hrs. on Oman Air flight
516. Arrives Muscat at 1930 hrs.
July 13 - Departs Muscat at 0600 hrs. on Royal Jordanian
flight 601 for Amman.
4. Action request. Post is requested to provide country
clearance for Lawson's visit. Post's assistance in securing
reservations in Muscat at the Intercontinental Hotel for the
evenings of July 9 and 12 is greatly appreciated (Lawson
already has reservations at the Crowne Plaza in Salalah for
evenings of the July 10-11).
