1. (SBU) Beginning Friday, January 5, President Bush and
the Secretary will be consulting members of Congress on
the USG's Iraq policy; the White House will consult select
international partners prior to an announcement. However,
no posts will be asked to pre-brief the policy; guidance
will be sent to posts only after the President's
announcement is made. This announcement will be made in a
few days.
