Dear Mr. Minister:
Thank you for your November 30 letter informing me of the
Dutch government's decision to renew the Netherlands'
contribution to ISAF in Afghanistan. I know that your
personal efforts and commitment helped bring about this
positive outcome. The Netherlands' long-term commitment,
especially the continued presence of the extremely capable
Dutch contingent in Uruzgan, is critical to the common
effort we share with our other NATO Allies and EU partners
to strengthen further security and development in
Afghanistan.
I look forward to joining you at the NATO meeting in
Brussels later this week.
