1. On November 8, the UN General Assembly will vote on the
members to be elected to ECOSOC for the term 2008-2011. This
year there are no contested elections (there are as many
states presenting themselves for election as there are seats
to be elected). The Department is not opposed to any of the
states presenting themselves to be elected. Therefore,
Mission is instructed to write in the following names on the
ballots, as put forward by each regional slate:
African Slate (4 states for 4 seats)
Cameroon
Congo
Mozambique
Niger
Asian Slate (4 states for 4 seats)
China
Malaysia
Pakistan
Republic of Korea
Eastern European Slate (3 states for 3 seats)
