The Department's Office of Defense Trade Controls Compliance (PM/DTCC) requests Post's assistance in conducting a post-shipment check on licenses 05-050019429, 05-1011934, and 05-050035641 for the export of a radio frequency amplifier part, a transceiver, and several helicopter components to the United Arab Emirates. Post is requested to complete this Blue Lantern check within 45 days. Lack of response to a Blue Lantern check will affect pending and future licenses involving parties to this license. ¶3. Reason for Request: Foreign consignee, Bin Mahmood, is an unfamiliar company that has never been subject to a Blue Lantern check despite being party to several approved licenses. ¶4. Action Request: Post should make appropriate inquiries to determine that the United States Munitions List (USML) articles listed below were properly forwarded to the end-user, UAE Armed Forces, GHQ. Post should also substantiate the bona fides of foreign consignee, Bin Mahmood, with the following points providing guidance: -- (To Bin Mahmood) How long has Bin Mahmood been in the business of importing and selling defense articles? What services and products are sold by your company? Who are your regular customers and where do they reside? Are you familiar with the restrictions against the unauthorized re-export of US-origin defense articles?
