(S) Chief of POLEC section and polec officer met with Embassy
Minister Luis J. Arregui on Monday October 29. Mr. Arregui
was aware of reftel demarche, but said he would have to
consult with his ambassador, before he could proceed with the
demarche. He promised to get back to us within "two or three
days." He agreed when we noted that time was running out to
make the demarche. Arregui said that he had not contacted
the UK, French, German, or Brazilian embassies regarding the
demarche.
