(SBU) On March 14, poloff delivered reftel explaining USG
concerns about proposed reforms to the UN's current internal
system of Administration of Justice to Lee Kyung-chul, Deputy
Director of MOFAT's United Nations Division. Lee said that
he had passed the points to the ROK Mission to the United
Nations and was waiting to hear a response. He said that
with discussions ongoing in New York, his office was not in a
good position to comment on latest developments. He
undertook to provide the Embassy with more details when they
became available.
