(SBU) On February 14, A/DCM delivered reftel points on the
key outcomes and details of the February 13 agreement reached
at the Six Party Talks to Cho Byung-jae, Director-General for
the North AMERICA Affairs Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs and Trade. A/DCM emphasized that it was important to
build on the U.S.-ROKG coordination that helped achieve
progress at the Six Party Talks. Cho agreed and noted that
Foreign Minister Song valued his close and frequent
consultations with Secretary Rice. The February 13 agreement
was just the beginning of a long road to the denuclearization
of North Korea that would require full USG-ROK coordination,
Cho said.
