(S) On December 17, Lee Hong-yup of the ROK-U.S. Security
Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Trade notified the Embassy that the second flight test of the
Haesong-II UAV (originally scheduled for December 18, then
rescheduled for December 26 as reported reftels),has been
canceled. Lee said that the Anheung missile testing grounds
were still significantly contaminated by the December 7 oil
spill off the western coast of South Korea, preventing the
necessary preparations for the test flight. Lee said that
the ROKG plans to conduct the test flight sometime in early
2008 and would inform the Embassy of the date when decided.
