1. (U) The Dominican Republic has subscribed to the Hague
Code of Conduct (HCOC) against ballistic missile
proliferation.
2. (SBU) On August 13, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs'
Carmen Contreras, Director of the Office of Judicial Affairs,
provided POLOFF a photocopy of the relevant diplomatic note
sent by the Dominican Government to the Government of
Austria. Post will send a scanned copy of the note to
WHA/CAR and ISN/MTR. An unofficial translation by Post
follows:

The Ministry of Foreign of the Dominican Republic presents
its compliments to the Honorable Ministry of Foreign Affairs
of the Austria and refers to the Hague Code of Conduct
against ballistic missile proliferation (The Hague Code),of
2002.
This Ministry has the pleasure to inform your Ministry, in
your capacity as Depository, that the Dominican Republic has
the intention to subscribe to the referred Code, and wishes
in consequence to be included in the list of signatory States.
The Ministry of Foreign of the Dominican avails itself of
this opportunity to renew to the Honorable Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of the Austria the assurances of its highest
consideration.
