CONFERENCE ON MARITIME DEMARCATION
1. (U) The Dominican Ministry of Foreign Affairs seeks
support for their candidate for president of the Caribbean
Conference on Maritime Demarcation.
2. (U) Translation of Diplomatic Note: (Complimentary
Opening) The Dominican Republic has decided to nominate the
engineer Carlos Michelen Namnum for president of the
Caribbean Conference on Maritime Demarcation in this year's
elections.
Mr. Michelen is currently the vice president of the Caribbean
Conference on Maritime Demarcation and director of the
National Commission of Oceanography at the Dominican Foreign
Ministry. The 4th Annual Conference took place in Santo
Domingo last year.
The Dominican Republic appeals to the excellent bilateral
relations between our two countries to solicit the U.S.
Government's support for Mr. Michelen's candidacy. Attached
please find his curriculum vitae, which speaks for itself.
