Emboff delivered reftel talking points to the Ministry of
Foreign Relations and the Ministry of Public Health regarding
pandemic influenza preparedness, especially the need for
unrestricted sharing of influenza virus samples and our
shared goal of increasing access to influenza vaccines, and
ongoing smallpox virus research and avoiding any date-certain
for destruction of the authorized virus stocks. The
Dominican officials took our views on board but had no
immediate reply. We will report any subsequent Dominican
response.
