(U) In response to reftel, the following members of the Government of El Salvador are expected to attend the 62nd UNGA General Debate: ¶A. Attendance of the Head of State: - Elias Antonio SACA Gonzalez, Constitutional President of the Republic of El Salvador - Exact arrival and departure dates are currently unknown. - Attendance by the spouse of the Head of State is currently unknown. - A Spanish Language interpreter will be required for any bilateral or multilateral meetings. ¶B. Attendance of the Head of Government: - El Salvador's Head of State is also Head of Government ¶C. Attendance of the Foreign Minister: - Francisco Esteban LAINEZ Rivas, Minister of Foreign Affairs - Exact arrival and departure dates are unknown. - Attendance by the spouse of the Foreign Minister is currently unknown. - Foreign Minister Lainez is a fluent English speaker so interpretation will probably not be required. ¶D. Attendance of other host country VIPs: - Most likely attendees will include Eduardo CALIX Lopez, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of El Salvador and Margarita ESCOBAR, Vice Minister for Salvadorans Abroad - Exact arrival and departure dates are unknown. - Vice Ministers Calix and Escobar are fluent English speakers so interpretation will probably not be required. ¶E. Attendance of the Foreign Ministry official responsible for IO affairs: - Ambassador Guillermo Antonio MELENDEZ Barahona, Director General for Foreign Policy - Exact arrival and departure dates are unknown. - A Spanish Language interpreter will be required for any bilateral or multilateral meetings. ¶2.
