¶1. On July 13, PolOff conveyed reftel information and request
to Montserrat Vargas Solorzano, Director of the United
Nations Organizations desk at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
(FMA) and to Gisella Sanchez Castillo, Human Rights Director
at the Multilateral Policy Section of the FMA.
¶2. Biographical data on Ambassador Swing was provided as
well. Ms. Vargas is aware of all current candidates and
stated as of now, they support the USG nomination. To this
end, they have been in touch with their diplomatic mission in
Geneva and they are forwarding Ambassador Swing's biography
to their mission.
