Embassy delivered a diplomatic note August 30 containing
reftel invitation to PM Prodi's wife Flavia Franzoni from
Mrs. Bush for the September 24 luncheon on literacy and
health in New York. The PM's office informed us August 31
that Mrs. Prodi's plans have changed and she will no longer
be traveling to New York. She regrets that she cannot attend
the September 24 event.
