(C) Poloff delivered reftel demarche to MFA Acting Office
Director for Human Rights Giuditta Giorgio July 25 and
requested Italian support for the Steve Carr's candidacy to
the Standing Commission of the International Red Cross and
Red Crescent Movement. Poloff followed up with Giorgio again
on August 7. Giorgio said she appreciated the information on
Carr's candidacy but that Italy did not yet have a position
on candidates for the November election.
