(C) Poloff delivered reftel demarche to MFA Acting East
Africa Office Director Domenico Polloni August 8 and thanked
Italy for the substantial assistance of 10 million euro it
has already provided to the African Union Stabilization Force
in Somalia (AMISOM). Polloni said that Italy supports the
AMISOM mission and has discussed the possibility of providing
police training for AMISOM contributors. In regard to
assistance to the Burundian contingent, Polloni said that if
presented with details about Burundi's needs Italy would
consider such a request.
