(S) Econoff presented reftel points January 8 to Cristina
Collura, Director of the Ministry of Finance's Financial
Crimes Prevention Office, and Maria Paola Suppa, an advisor
at the Financial Crimes Prevention Office. Econoff also
presented reftel points the same day to Giampaolo Cantini,
Head of the Counter Terrorism Policy Unit at the MFA's
Department for Multilateral Political Affairs. Neither
office had any immediate comment, but noted they would study
the information and inform post of any questions or concerns.
Econoff followed up with Suppa January 16, who informed him
that the GOI's Financial Intelligence Unit and law
enforcement agencies had no substantive issues to report with
regards to the U.S. designation.
