1. SAWAF, HASSAN
AKA: EL SAWAF, HASSAN
2. DOB: 23-MAR-1961
3. POB: DAMASCUS
4. REFUSAL GROUNDS: P6C1
5. (SBU) Post requests deletion of the following CAT 1 CLASS hit:
NAME: EL SAWAF, HASSAN
DOB: XXXX1961
POB: QTAR
REF. CODE: P6C1
CAT: 1
REF. SITE: RID
REF. DATE: 24-SEP-1997
UID: DOSVODPT19970924000270100
6. (SBU) JUSTIFICATION: Embassy Damascus is processing an NIV
application for HASSAN SAWAF and has requested that Embassy Riyadh
submit a CLOK deletion cable to the Department. The applicant, who
was last interviewed in Damascus on 25-NOV-2007, says that in 1997
he was expedited for an NIV interview by an FSN at Embassy Riyadh
who was also the applicant's patient (applicant is a physician).
When a second FSN asked how the applicant had managed to jump the
line, the applicant refused to give the name of his FSN patient.
According to applicant, this led to a refusal. The P6C1 hit appears
to be related to this incident. There are no records pertaining to
Mr. Sawaf in Riyadh's A-Z files. Post concurs with Embassy Damascus
that story seems credible, and hit is innocuous in nature and can be
deleted.
7. (U) MINIMIZE CONSIDERED.
