¶1. PolEconOff delivered reftel talking points on August 21 to Arnis
Muiznieks, Director of the Ministry of Transport's Aviation
Department, and urged the GOL to support the re-election of the
United States to the Council of the International Civil Aviation
Organization (ICAO),membership category Part I. Muiznieks responded
that the United States can count on the GOL's support and added that
such a decision by the GOL was automatic and required no
discussions. Mr. Muiznieks will lead the GOL delegation to the
upcoming Assembly in Montreal 18-28 September.
