Rozeniece, Head of International Organizations Division at
the MFA, and urged the GOL to support UN Special Envoy Martti
Ahtisaari's proposed status arrangements. Rozeniece
responded that "Latvia fully supports Ahtisaari's proposal,"
and that Latvia supports the common EU position on this issue
and wants to cooperate with the USG. She added that Latvia
opposes any destabilization in the region and considers
cooperation with NATO, the EU, and the OSCE vital for this
issue.
