The Secretary General wrote: "In memory of former President of the United States of American Gerald Ford. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Cape Verde pays sincere tribute to the great American statesman who was Gerald Ford, at the same time presents its ardent condolences to the bereaved family and to the American Nation in general.
