(C) On April 2, Poloff delivered reftel demarche to Pavel
Klucky, Head of the Nonproliferation and Disarmament Unit in
the UN Department at the Czech MFA. On April 6, Klucky
informed Poloff that the Czech government had no problem with
the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) sharing Iran-related export
denial information with the IAEA and IAEA member states.
Klucky noted that the Czechs in 2004 had shared denial
information related to the construction of Iran's nuclear
power plant in Bushehr and would be willing to do so again.
Klucky will be heading the Czech NSG delegation in South
Africa and informed Poloff that the Czechs will be heading up
an NSG meeting subgroup under the Information Exchange
Meeting dealing with enforcement and customs issues. Klucky
stated that Czechs will be proposing an amendment relating to
increased information sharing.
