VISITING FORCES ACT OF 2007

1. On July 12, Poloff spoke with Gerald Thompson, Director of Legal
Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Thompson informed
Poloff that his Ministry had received the Diplomatic Note and was in
the process of consulting with the relevant authorities.
2. Thompson added, "The longstanding military cooperation between
the two countries augurs well for a favorable response to your
request." He stated that a more definitive response should be
expected shortly. Septel to follow later.
3. Post will continue to follow up and will advise the Department of
further information received on this subject.
