This is an action request for WHA/CAR. ¶2. Post requests the Department's assistance in vetting the following candidates, of the Haitian National Police, who have been nominated to participate in a U.S. sponsored training, pursuant to the Leahy Amendment and Foreign Assistance Act. ¶3. This training will be held at the Dominican Republic from December 10-14, 2007. Therefore the vetting process must be completed before December 10. The FBI Legal Attache (Legat) office stationed at hereabove mentioned, will be leading the training. ¶4. We received comments on one individual following the Consular Section's INK process,as of November 15, 2007. That hit is in a similar name and different DOB. The agent is a vetted member of the Special Intelligence Unit (SIU) of the HNP counternarcotics unit (BLTS) that has been thoroughly vetted by the USG previously. ¶5.
