1. (C) We contacted French FM Kouchner,s adviser on NEA
issues, Christophe Bigot, October 29, who indicated that
Kouchner,s priority was to have a one-on-one with the
Secretary to discuss Lebanon as well as the
SIPDIS
Israeli/Palestinian peace process (before the Secretary,s
next visit to ISRAEL and Palestinian territories),and Iran.
Bigot asserted that, given time constraints, Kouchner was
less interested in a wider meeting on Lebanon that he did not
think would be as productive or &confidential8 as a
one-on-one, although he did not rule it out. The key factor
would be the time and date that we proposed.
2. (U) Action request: Assuming this meeting is still in
play, please provide specific day and time that we propose.
