(U) On October 23 Tanuja Garde, Director, Intellectual
Property and Innovation, USTR, and Econoff delivered points
in reftel to Julie Boisvert, Senior Trade Policy Analyst,
Intellectual Property, Information and Technology Trade
Division, Department of Foreign Affairs and International
Trade. Boisvert confirmed that Canada will be sending trade
officials to the November IGWG meeting in Geneva. She
expressed agreement with the U.S. position regarding IPR and
suggested that the U.S. and Canada should coordinate in
advance with like-minded countries, such as Australia, as
much as possible.
