Timms confirmed that CHC Norway received the two helicopters, one in April 2005 and the other in September 2005, and that they are still in service transporting petroleum industry workers to offshore platforms. The helicopters are used only within Norway (and not flown into any countries proscribed under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations). With respect to CHC's written confirmation that it is in compliance with certain provisions of the export license, Timms sent a statement to post declaring that CHC Norway contacted Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, Connecticut to clarify the restrictions and conditions regarding the export and operation of the helicopters. Sikorsky responded that the QRS-11 device that was a subject of one of the key license conditions was not installed in the S-92A helicopters purchased by CHC Norway.
