¶1. (C) On May 14 we delivered reftel points to MFA Section for
European Affairs and Trade Policy Senior Adviser Per Mannes
and MFA West Balkan Section Adviser Toril Langlete. Mannes
emphasized that the GON strongly supported the Ahtisaari
proposals, and that the MFA has made such position known to
their Serbian and Russian colleagues. Noting that the
Russian position is indeed "difficult," Mannes hoped that the
international community will "gather around" the Ahtisaari
recommendations and support them.
