Below information is in response to questions contained in
reftel:
1- According to the Central Bank of Cyprus,
Cypriot-registered entities have investments in Cuba valued
at CP130,000 (US$325,000) as of year-end 2006. There is no
information as to the owner or nature of this investment.
There is no reported Cuban investment in Cyprus.
2- According to the Cypriot MFA, there are no bilateral trade
agreements between Cuba and Cyprus.
3- According to the Cypriot MFA, there are no exchange
programs between Cyprus and Cuba.
4- The Government of Cyprus has not worked to promote the
advancement of democracy and human rights in Cuba. Cyprus
does not maintain an embassy or interest section in Cuba.
Cyprus' Ambassador to Mexico is accredited to Cuba. There is
a Cuban embassy in Cyprus.
5- There have been no high-level diplomatic visits in the
past six months.
