1. (C) Per Reftel, the Embassy November 1 demarched Foreign
Ministry and Cypriot Police interlocutors to win support for
the Government of Argentina's attempt to secure Interpol Red
Notices against suspects in the 1994 AMIA bombing in Buenos
Aires. On November 2, Maria Charalambous, head of the Police
Counterterrorism Unit, voiced agreement with the USG position
and reported that she would instruct the Cypriot delegates to
the Interpol General Assembly to back the Argentinean
position.
