1. (C) PolCouns delivered reftel points to Ministry of
External Affairs (MEA) Joint Secretary (Americas) Gaitri
Kumar May 21. Kumar reconfirmed the Government of India's
(GOI) commitment to implement fully all UN Security Council
Resolutions. She said she had discussed these demarches with
MEA Joint Secretary (Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran) T.C.A.
Raghavan, who echoed her commitment to full implementation of
the relevant UNSCRs.
2. (C) EconOff delivered reftel points May 18 to Ministry of
Finance Joint Secretary K.P. Krishnan, who had no substantive
immediate response.
3. (C) PolOff delivered reftel points May 21 to MEA Director
(Counterterrorism Cell) I.M. Pandey, who indicated he would
discuss the points with the Americas division of MEA. Pandey
noted that the GOI found UNSCR 1373 to be more useful because
it was more general, and less focused on only the Taliban and
Al-Qaeda.
