1. (U) On October 8, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Under
Secretary Marilyn Zonicle informed Post that The Bahamas will

support the U.S. draft resolution condemning the use of rape
as an instrument of state policy in the U.N. General
Assembly, and instruct the Bahamian Permanent Mission to the
U.N. accordingly. The promised formal reply came following
the delivery of reftel A demarche points on October 3 (see
reftel B).
