(C) Post raised Ref A points on Russia's debt relief for Iraq
with Deputy Finance Minister Sergey Storchak. The points
reinforced discussions that Treasury Deputy Secretary Kimmitt
held in Moscow with Finance Minister Aleksey Kudrin on June
20 and with Presidential Aide Viktor Ivanov on June 21
(Reftel B). Storchak said that the Finance Ministry was
preparing talking points for President Putin's upcoming visit
with President Bush in Kennebunkport. Storchak did not
provide details on the substance of the talking points. He
did, however, echo Finance Minister Kudrin's suggestion to
Deputy Secretary Kimmitt that President Bush raise the topic
with President Putin.
