Juarez had not previously heard of the initiative and said that Mexico gives priority on issues of nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear counterterrorism to the NPT, International Convention Against Nuclear Terrorism, and UNSC Resolutions 1373 and ¶1540. He added that the GOM supports anti-terrorism initiatives in principle and said he would review the Global Initiative with colleagues in the SRE.
