(S) As requested (reftel),post met with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and reaffirmed the importance of implementing United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions 1737 and 1747. Post stressed the urgency of the Philippines submitting an implementation report to the UNSC Iran Sanctions Committee without delay. ¶2. (S) Leah Ruiz, Director for International Political, Legal, and Security Affairs in DFA's Office of United Nations and International Organizations, acknowledged that the Philippines has not yet submitted the mandated implementation report under UNSC resolution 1737, but noted that DFA is in the process of soliciting interagency comments and information.
