(U) In a diplomatic note dated January 17, the Department of Foreign Affairs informed the Embassy that the Philippine Department of Justice, with the endorsement of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, had agreed to grant exit clearances for Than Nguyen Thien Tran and Tru Truch Thi Nguyen, two minor children who have been approved to resettle in the U.S. under the Vietnamese Resettlement Project Philippines, as the U.S. had requested. ¶2.
