1. (C) On October 1, EconOff delivered reftel points to Ivo
Pascual Herrera, desk officer within MFA's Terrorism
Sub-Directorate. Pascual expressed appreciation for the
update and reported that Spain had no position concerning the
designations of the reftel A Saudi nationals under domestic
and UN terrorism financing authorities. Pascual reported
that his office had forwarded the names of the "Saudi five"
to various law enforcement agencies as requested in late
August (ref B) and had not received any derogatory
information back on these individuals.
