1. (U) In response to reftel inquiry, Angola has no rubber
industry at present. The Embassy has not heard serious
discussion of creating a rubber industry.
2. (U) Although Angola has a large and growing diamond
industry, in-country cutting and polishing remains limited.
However, a new state of the art diamond cutting and polishing
plant has opened in the Talatona suburb of southern Luanda.
There is no published information on capacity of this
facility.
