1. (C) In a December 6 meeting with the MFA's European
Correspondent, Aljaz Arih, Emboff urged that the Government
of Slovenia (GOS) include in its public statements and
private messages to key players expressions of support for
immediate Lebanese presidential elections being held without
linkage to other issues. Arih undertook to pass the
information to FM Rupel, who is traveling, and to recommend
that he make a public statement if he has the opportunity.
